What does on-site personal training look like for me?

Your fitness track will be individualized based on many factors that we will review in your initial assessment.  Your goals, exercise history, hobbies, lifestyle, past & current injuries and time constraints are all factors in creating an effective workout program.

All clients receive goals and programming which addresses cardio, nutrition, and strength.  Sessions are typically 55 minutes in length.

I have some strong opinions about what makes an effective workout program.  At the top of that list is that everyones body has a different adaptation time.  In short, just because your friend did (fill in the blank) exercise program and lost 15 lbs in a month; does not mean that the program will work for you in the same way.

I say this because I pride myself in working with a person to find the most efficient way for you to achieve your goals.  Anyone who is willing to work hard for their health, deserves more than a generic workout routine that makes no distinctions regarding the details of life that make you unique.  (back to top)

Why would I train with Malin Enterprises?

When I make any type of investment of time or money, I'm slow to make a decision.  I like to research and then decide.  I would expect none less from you.

If I was looking for a trainer, I would ask how long you have been in the business, what certifications you've achieved, what your schooling was like.  Then I would ask for references and a complimentary initial consultation to make sure we seemed like a good fit.

All these things I would be happy to oblige.  Let me answer the first few here, and then please contact me for any other information.

How did Josh get started in Personal Training?

I was always active and involved in sports through High School; however, a knee injury threatened to keep me out of sports my Senior year.  The emergency room doctors told me that sports were out, but after being referred to a sports medicine clinic I discovered what a more optimistic attitude and some hard work could accomplish.  I missed only 1 game my senior year and felt stronger than I ever had throughout all 3 sport seasons that year.

In college, I pursued sports medicine and did all my internship work out of rehabilitation clinics.  Here I was saddened to see how many good therapists could never get their patient to full recovery on account of insurance cutting off the sessions before reaching their goals.  After doing some research into personal training certifications I found what seemed like a good fit for me.  In Personal Training I could use the therapy based background to work with some post rehab clients, still work with sports programs, and motivate people with their personal goals of fitness, weight loss, and lifestyle.

Who shouldn't train with Malin Enterprises?

An odd question for a promotional website, I know.  However, every profession has different areas of expertise, and if you are looking for a personal trainer who specializes in bodybuilding or Olympic lifting, I have some great recommendations for you.  If your goals are simply a short term "fix" versus really looking for a lifestyle change, there are many options out there available to you.

However, if you want to get more information and direction in achieving both short and long term health goals, we need to talk.

If you are looking to create a "fit" body so you can enjoy life more each year you get older, we need to talk.

If you have ongoing aches or reoccurring injuries that take the enjoyment out of life, we need to talk.

If you want to change your weight, change your posture, or enhance your ability to perform your sport or hobby, we need to talk.  Please contact us for more information.
